If you enjoy wine tasting, you’ll love the Priority Wine Pass. Offering discounts to members at hundreds of West Coast wineries in California, Oregon, and Washington, the pass comes with a personalized itinerary, tasting room discounts, and more.
Priority Wine Pass gave me two passes to elevate my wine tasting experience in California’s Livermore Valley. But you can count on me to always share my honest opinions, regardless of who foots the bill.
Plump grapes, crushed, fermented, and aged to perfection. Whether it’s white or red, bubbly or not, there’s a lot to love about wine. And one of the best ways to discover new wines along the West Coast is via the Priority Wine Pass.
To help offset the costs of running EverydayWanderer.com, you’ll find affiliate links lightly sprinkled throughout the site. If you choose to make a purchase via one of these links, there’s no additional cost to you, but I’ll earn a teeny tiny commission. You can read all of the legal blah blah blah (as my little niece says) on the full disclosure page.
What is Priority Wine Pass?
Founded in 2012, Priority Wine Pass is the largest wine tasting program of its kind. It provides its members with amazing wine experiences at more than 400 wineries on the West Coast. That includes dozen of wineries producing world-class wines in popular wine regions like:
- Columbia Valley,
- Willamette Valley,
- Napa Valley,
- Livermore Valley,
- Paso Robles, and
- more!
Purchase a Priority Wine Pass to receive personalized wine tasting itineraries, free or upgraded wine tastings, and discounts on wine purchases from wineries in Washington, Oregon, and California. Wine passes can be purchased for three days, 30 days, or a full year. And you can return to your favorite wineries as often as you during the valid period.
Sage Advice: Here’s where you can see the full list of winery partners by West Coast wine region.
- Save even more on an annual Priority Wine pass with the code WANDERER
- Instant access
- Valid 365 days from day of purchase
- 350+ wine tasting deals
- Free custom tasting itineraries
- Includes deals at Charles Krug, Sterling (tram ride), Beringer, Grgich Hills, and many more!
How to Use Priority Wine Pass?
Simply show your pass at any of the hundreds of West Coast wineries that accept it, and you’ll automatically receive the Priority Wine Pass discount offered by that winery. Most Priority Wine Pass wineries offer 2-for-1 wine tasting deals. This means a Priority Wine Pass holder receives two wine tastings for the price of one. Other wineries offer a complimentary wine tasting to each Priority Wine Pass holder.
In the Livermore Wine Valley, Longevity Wines offers 2-for-1 tastings. That means two guests can taste Longevity Wines for a single wine-tasting fee of $15. But other wineries in the Livermore Valley, like The Singing Winemaker, offer each pass holder a free tasting and 10% off wine purchases.
What Makes the Priority Pass Unique?
While there are certainly other wine passport programs, the Priority Pass is the only tasting program that includes a full-time wine concierge. Included in the price of your pass, the wine concierge will create personalized wine tasting recommendations and a custom itinerary based on:
- your wine preferences,
- the time you have available to explore wine country, and
- your budget.
You’ll also get discounts beyond tasting rooms and wineries including hotels, restaurants, and transportation companies. This makes it an excellent choice for planning an upcoming wine tasting trip.
Sage Advice: Want to take wine home from your West Coast wine tasting trip? Here’s everything you need to know about carrying alcohol on a plane.
How Do I Request a Custom Itinerary?
One of the features that sets Priority Wine Pass apart from other wine passport companies is its wine concierge service. To take advantage of this feature, simply request a customized tasting itinerary online and let the wine concierge do all the work.
Priority Wine Pass will create a personalized wine tasting itinerary for you based on the wine region you’re visiting, your wine preferences, and your budget. They’ll even help you discover family-owned and boutique wineries if you want to explore lesser-known and up and coming wineries.
How Much Can You Save with Priority Wine Pass?
Let’s do the math. While wineries charge different fees for their wine tastings, the average cost is currently $20 per person. Most people touring wine country visit five wineries. Focusing on just wine tasting fees, a couple will typically spend $200 per day trying new wines. (5 tastings x $20 per person x 2 people = $200).
When I recently visited the Livermore Valley’s wineries using the pass, my friend and I saved over $100 in tasting fees over the course of the weekend.
But pass holders also save on:
- Barrel tastings, special tours, and food pairings,
- Discounts on wine purchases,
- Hotel, transportation, and restaurant discounts,
- And more!
And the savings really start to add up when you visit amazing wineries in Washington, Oregon, and California throughout the year, making it one of the best deals in wine country.
Is Priority Wine Pass Worth It?
Yes! Especially if you’re a wine lover who:
- Wants recommendations from a wine concierge,
- Plans to purchase bottles of wine, or
- Will be visiting more than five wineries during the length of your Priority Wine Club membership
To Purchase a Wine Pass and Start Saving Immediately
Purchase a Priority Wine Pass online and immediately take advantage of the benefits. Memberships are available in three-day, 30-day, or one-year time frames. Your Priority Pass will be digitally delivered, and you can begin using the same day of purchase.
And, best of all, ordering your pass through Everyday Wanderer and using the code WANDERER will score you a $20 discount off the annual Priority Wine Pass. That’s roughly one-third off of the regular priced annual pass!

Thinking of an Oregon wine country trip next year – if that happens, this is something I’ll want to try!
While I enjoy Oregon wines, I haven’t yet had the chance to explore Oregon wine country. Sounds like an amazing experience. Have fun!
I’ve never heard abut this but it sounds like a great idea! The concierge sounds like a huge benefit, and that’s awesome that there are additional discounts. I’ve always loved wine tasting but am definitely an ‘amateur,’ and I’m sure Priority Wine Pass would be a great way to take it to the next level. Thanks for sharing!
The wine concierge was one of my favorite parts of the Priority Wine Pass. Despite living in Livermore and returning to visit, I still learned about several new wineries through that service. Just imagine how it will benefit me as I visit new regions in west coast wine country?
Priority Wine Pass seems like an excellent program for wine enthusiasts like me, and love how cost effective it is in the long run. I also loved how you explained the cost effective part by making a little comparison. Thanks for sharing 🙂
What can I say, I like to do the math! 🙂
This sounds like a great idea! I will definitely have to look into it! Thanks for sharing all of the details!
So I know you answered the question Yes to is it worth it especially if you are a wine lover. But I might also say that it is probably worth it if I am not. I personally an not the biggest wine lover or even enjoy it that much. SO because of that, I tend not to have a clue what I like or would like or even want to explore. Therefore the wine concierge aspect of the Priority Wine Pass is a great bonus for me. I mean I wouldn’t have a clue where to go or what to try but this concierge can create a custom itinerary based on wine preferences or perhaps lack of preferences and make my life easier. Don’t get me wrong, I love to save money too and if Darcee wants to explore the wineries and it saves me money while we do some fun tasting…then double bonus for us!
Because I *love* wine, I never even considered that perspective before. Great point! I hope you and your wife will have a chance to explore some hand-picked West Coast wineries with Priority Wine Pass! Cheers!
The wine priority pass sounds like a great idea. It’s always hard to choose the best wineries to visit when you have a limited amount of time. And I imagine that there are so many to choose from in California, this would be perfect for first time visitors. Thank you for sharing your experience!
There are a LOT of wineries in California. That’s one of the reasons I love the wine concierge feature that comes with their pass. Let an expert help you identify the perfect places based on your preferences, availability, and budget!
I have been to Napa Valley several times and have never heard of this pass. However, I really want to visit Oregon’s wine country and will definitely consider using one!
I didn’t get a chance to explore Oregon’s wine country when I visited about a year ago. I bet that would be a fun time! The link above lists all of the wineries included with the pass by state and region, so it’s easy to see what is featured in Oregon. And, of course, they’ll send you a personalized itinerary to help you find new wines to love!
Wow I had no idea that you can get a priority wine pass. I love drinking wine and this pass would really be beneficial for me coz I can visit all those wineries at a cheaper rate and it has so many added benefits like hotel, transportation, and restaurant discounts. Hope I can visit Livermore Valley soon. Thanks for sharing!
The Livermore Valley wineries are some of the best in California!
This is great info! Thank you. Pinned it for later.
I love red wine and tasting rooms and never even heard of this. This is fantastic as I also live on the west coast. It sounds like a great deal since it pretty much pays for itself after the first visit. Gonna add this to my Christmas Wish List 🙂
May Santa bring you a Priority Wine Pass! Ho ho ho!
This is such a great idea if you are into wine tasting! It’s seems like it would pay for itself in no time and doesn’t everyone love to save money on the things they love to do! I would love to visit some of these wineries in this region.
You won’t be disappointed!
Great info, thank you. I think for wine lovers who want the full experience, the Wine Pass sounds like great value.
It is a great way to experience many of America’s West Coast wineries while saving on wine tasting fees and more!
Fantastic gift for my husband who loves wines/ California, Oregon, and Washington!
Which West Coast winery is his favorite?
It seems like Priority Wine Pass can pay for itself on a single visit. A season pass might make a fantastic gift. This is a great product to know about.
It does, and the savings really kick in during second and subsequent wine tasting trips.
